How did you get involved in this business?
Our family started in the building industry in plasterboard in 1911. They started NHS about 30 years ago. Matt started in the business in 1998 and Jason in 2003.

Who are your customers?
We are very much a trade based business – at least 80% of our turnover. We opened the Cardiff branch in late 2009 to better serve those customers and to continue our strong growth.

You’re a serious trade player, so why did you join HBT in 2009?
We wanted the advantages that a buying group can bring and HBT offer a flexibility the other groups don’t. Many of our existing suppliers had been suggesting we should join for a while.

Any other comments?
We like those rebate cheques but we also notice the improved pricing which is especially helpful in our ‘non-core’ lines. We also found that HBT opened the doors to some suppliers who previously hadn’t been dealing with us.
